Programs at a Glance
The Visitor Center
State Parks' accessibility page places the visitor center next to the Anacapa loop and describes it as a place to learn about the park's natural and cultural resources. It is accessible, with limited accessible parking out front and more in the day-use area. The park's master plan describes a tide pool exhibit with live animals among its displays.

State Parks offers campfire and Junior Ranger programs from June 18 to August 29, 2026. Topics include octopuses, sharks, whales, seals, nocturnal animals, deep-sea animals and insects. Programs are held at the campfire center next to the visitor center and the Anacapa loop, which has upper and lower accessible seating.

Virtual programs are available through State Parks' PORTS program; email CarpinteriaSB.Interp@parks.ca.gov.
Tomol Interpretive Play Area
Tucked into the northwest corner of the park, the Tomol Interpretive Play Area lets kids run, climb and slide while imagining life in a Chumash village on the Pacific shore. State Parks lists it as accessible. Reach it on the Bioswale Trail, a 0.2-mile path from near the visitor center to Linden Avenue. Park in the day-use area or, through the City of Carpinteria, along Linden Avenue.
The tomol is the Chumash plank canoe that gave Carpinteria its name. See about the park.
Volunteering and Jobs
State Parks links its volunteer, camp host and job pages from the park page. Ask at the entrance station or check parks.ca.gov.
