Campground Map & Loops
The official Carpinteria State Beach campground map from California State Parks shows four loops: Anacapa and Santa Cruz (no hookups), Santa Rosa (sites 301–380, all full hookups) and San Miguel (sites 401–456). Beach-row sites are 358–380 in Santa Rosa and 447–456 in San Miguel. The PDF is linked from the State Parks park page.

Where to Get the Map
State Parks posts the campground map as a PDF on the park page under Brochures (the current version is dated 2026), next to a park map and an online map. It is a general reference: State Parks says to always check current park and road conditions. Each site's exact length and equipment are listed on ReserveCalifornia.
Santa Rosa Loop (Full Hookups)
Every Santa Rosa site has water, sewer and electric. From the map:
- 301–308: inland, 21 feet.
- 309–318: inland, 21 feet.
- 319–338: inland, 21 feet.
- 340–357: long row, 30 feet.
- 358–380: beach row, 21 feet.
State Parks counts twenty-two premium beachside sites in this loop.
San Miguel Loop
San Miguel is the park's easternmost camping area. From the map:
- 401–419: inland, 21 feet, no hookups.
- 420–433: inland, 21 feet, water and electric.
- 434–446: long row, 30 feet, water and electric (439 and 440 are 25 feet).
- 447–456: beach row, 18 feet, no hookups, no tents, back-in only.
The beach-row sites have no fire rings.
Anacapa and Santa Cruz Loops
Both take tents, motorhomes and trailers, and neither has hookups. Not every site takes every equipment type, so State Parks says to call 800-444-7275 to check what a site will hold.
- Anacapa holds the hike and bike area and the Bobcat (25 people, 3 vehicles, RVs and trailers only), Fox (25 people, 3 vehicles) and Raccoon (40 people, 5 vehicles) group sites. The visitor center and campfire center sit next to this loop.
- Santa Cruz has twelve premium beachside sites and the Gull, Egret and Plover group sites (25 people, 3 vehicles each).

Reading the Map for Your Rig
The map's numbers are maximum vehicle lengths. The park-wide limit is 35 feet, but most sites are 21 feet and the long rows are 30. A trailer or RV too long for the reserved site is not allowed in, so check the site's limit on ReserveCalifornia before you book. See reservations and camping.
